I am an addict. I am in recovery. I have a sponsor. I go to meetings. I am trying to put the pieces of my life back together, but recovery is showing me a way.
Anyone in recovery has heard things in the rooms that resonate with them. Simple one liners that they cling to. From “Let Go and Let God,” to “One Day at a Time.” These are things that recovering addicts hang on to.
As I have come to a greater connection with my higher power I have been amazed at the things that come to me. Sometimes when I need them, sometimes when I don’t. Sometimes they come to me from books, sometimes from music. But they do come to me.
As I have collected these thoughts, words and one-liners, I have wanted to spend some time in reflection on those things. That is what this blog will be about. Recovery in Words is all about those things that resonate with me and what I think about them.
I write this for myself. Whether you find any value in my words is up to you. Take what you like and leave the rest. This will be a positive place to support my own recovery.
If you want to comment, please do. I would love to hear from people. I don’t know if I want this to be a dialogue, or just a monologue. Right now, I think I have things to say.
